Primary responsibilities included the creation and management of client report templates using Visual Studio 2008/2013 and MSSQL as well as software plugins and custom modules both for clients and internal use. Standard procedure is to work within a specific time frame from a technical specification, updating the customer representative or the client directly throughout the duration of the work. My role within the Development department often requires me to assist my colleagues in the Support department with issues of a more technical nature.

Primarily responsible for taking & logging incoming calls from clients (Both non-technical and technical), providing excellent customer support for all all queries and issues relating to our ERP application quite, managing client data in SQL Management Studio, troubleshooting both hardware and networking issues, creating bespoke additions to the software when requested, modifying report templates within Visual Studio and keeping clients up to date on progress made with ongoing issues. Given the highly customisable nature of our software, most technical issues raised are unique or have no relation to previous errors. Diagnosis will often include replicating the problem in the application, monitoring system activity using SQL Profiler and identifying the stored procedure or plugin causing the issue. Resolution will often require making an amendment to the SQL database or escalating to our development team.Other duties include:Ensuring clients are updated to the latest version of the softwareInvestigating and implementing ways of reducing calls to the help deskWorking closely with the development team to find solutions for longstanding issuesHandling complaints and escalating to the relevant department leaderLiaising with 3rd party IT firms to resolve clients hardware/networking problemsAssisting members of the Installations department while on siteThis role can be quite demanding and requires a good knowledge of computers and networking in general. As a result I have gained extensive experience in the following areas:Windows Operating systems XP to 10, Windows server 2003 to 2012Microsoft SQL Management Studio 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2014 (backing up/restoring data, handling updates, running intermediate to advanced queries, modifying stored procedures/database functions and creating maintenance plans)

Tasked with handling incoming calls from users requesting technical support, my main duties included remotely assisting users with general software enquiries, diagnosing technical problems and providing a resolution where possible. Often a resolution would involve connecting to a clients PC or server and directly manipulating the Visual FoxPro or SQL database.
