Current• Maintain and improve Viki’s financial standing by guiding financial policies, assessing risks, determining funding opportunities, and advising on investment opportunities including content acquisitions. • Manage the receipt, banking, and best utilization of Viki’s funds; Anticipate funding/borrowing needs• Prepare financial statements, including cash flow statements• Plan, budget for and authorize expenditures• Plan, organize and coordinate monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes • Ensure that the organization has the financial systems, policies, procedures, internal controls, segregation of duties and security access in place to safeguard assets and data; to prevent or detect fraud and conflicts of interest• Manage internal (Japanese SOX) and external audits; identifying/implementing best practices and overall risk mitigation evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls; Assist in the execution of various internal control, compliance and audit activities. • Ensure successful completion of the company’s tax filings, including digital tax• Source, hire, train, develop, motivate and retain outstanding accounting team.
