I am a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Biology/Biotechnology at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where I pursue my passion for solving real-world problems and improving human health and well-being. With the help of my interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, I have contributed to the success and impact of the organizations I worked with as an instructor, an intern, and a volunteer. As an instructor at Wize Computing Academy, I introduced and mentored young students in STEM and coding, using robotics, computer science, 3D design, and 3D printing. I planned and delivered engaging lessons, individually and collaboratively, that increased student enrollment, satisfaction, and retention. As a web developer and communication specialist at Richardson Independent School District, I supported the Strategy and Community Engagement team in transforming the school district’s online presence and outreach. I created and designed user-friendly and accessible websites for all 55 campuses and helped to establish and execute a mass communication system that delivered timely and relevant information to parents and teachers.Through various projects and initiatives, I have also demonstrated my core aptitudes in counselor education, youth development, programming, communication, collaboration, and leadership through various projects and initiatives. For example, I earned the Eagle Scout rank, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America, by leading a team of volunteers in building and installing an information board, donation box, and bee hives for the community garden at a local elementary school.I am eager to learn and grow as a student and a professional and pursue my goals of becoming a cellular and molecular biology researcher and a positive change-maker.
