Limited duration position. Lead, recruit and mentored a diverse team of fifteen that delivered Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT help desk services to the employees of OED during the unprecedented demand for the agency’s services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our dedication and hard work enabled the agency to double its headcount, adopt new technologies and transition the majority of our 2100 staff to remote work, all in a period of about ten months.Participated in business policy development and the procurement and planning required to enable agency-wide teleworking in a business where the core work deals with highly sensitive personally identifying information of the public, our customers. Under my leadership my team successfully deployed over 1100 OED employees to telework in a three-month period during the height of the second wave of COVID-19 while also fielding over 2300 service requests/month, all without recording a single COVID-19 case on the team.Served as a major contributor to the technical, policy and organizational change management efforts required for the agency to adopt Microsoft 365 technologies, including Microsoft Teams. Worked with business and talent development partners to ensure OED staff received training, led a M365 Champions group in encouraging adoption and understanding of features, coordinated agency communications surrounding changes, and ensured my own team was trained in how to support our customers in the new technology.

At the request of the DOGAMI Director, I joined the agency after serving on the OSCIO IT assessment team that concluded that DOGAMI should undergo a restructuring of its IT operations and strategy. As a member of the Agency leadership team, I collaborated with the CFO to craft a June 2017 Legislature E-Board submission and a sustainable budget for future biennia. Designed and executed the consolidation and migration of 18 physical on-premises servers to the state’s private cloud. Engineered new network and Active Directory infrastructure and led DOGAMI through numerous changes in three and-a-half years: new AD, migration to enterprise email, migration to State M365 tenant, transition to COVID-19 work at home protocols. Provided leadership, policies, service standards and career growth opportunities that allowed the Agency IT team to become a trusted and effective part of agency operations. Led a statewide effort to develop and roll out a multi-agency shared lidar data infrastructure. Served on numerous multi-agency committees focused on improving statewide collaboration and consolidation of services.

Manage the business relationship for a portfolio of State agencies that do business with the State Data Center. Meet frequently with agency senior management and operational managers to review IT priorities and performance metrics. Own much of the business-to-business communications role within ETS. Learn and communicate to agencies the State's IT policies and priorities and help agencies align with those policies and priorities in order to be successful with their IT projects.

A contracted member of Deere & Co Global Network Services team responsible for designing, maintaining and monitoring LAN infrastructure throughout Deere & Company's worldwide network. Design and management of Lightweight Wireless Access Points via Cisco Prime and controllers. Management and troubleshooting of enterprise scale, 3 layer networks. Configuration and maintenance of monitoring of switches using TACACS, SNMP tied into HP Service Manager software. Work with business to align network resources to production needs. Develop standards documentation for building network infrastructure.

Full-time freelance contractor to this IT firm with a 10 year track record of building resilient networks for business. Designed and implemented private cloud and application hosting systems migrations for large manufacturing firm using VMWare technologies. Planned and conducted large-scale migrations of private Exchange to Office 365 Exchange Hosting.

Achievements included; complete management of multi-branch commercial banking networks, performed Novell to ActiveDirectory migration and 3 years ongoing support for county law enforcement/E911/criminal justice agency, designed network infrastructure foklift upgrade for municipal school district, and many other high-profile projects.

Hired to jump-start the regional technology consulting practice of the nation’s 12th largest accounting firm. Grew client base from one to over twenty. Ran day-to-day management of network operations for the region’s largest medical clinic wile serving a broad array of small and medium-sized businesses.
