Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to go above and beyond. As I got older and was able to take that drive and turn it into opportunity, the possibilities seemed endless. It started with getting accepted into the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science, a fantastic vocational school. From there I got accepted to Rowan University as a Biomedical Engineering major.This drive and opportunity did not just come in the way of education, but also in my working career as well. My first job that I held was an associate position at Hollister. While not the most prestigious job or position, I was able to learn a lot about customer service, whether it be at the register or helping them pick out outfits for them. The next position I held was a laborer position at Thermal Piping. This was a summer job and it taught me excellent work ethic and how to use plenty of different tools. Lastly, my current job is a research assistant at ReGelTec, a company developing a hydrogel to be used for degenerative disc disease. Here, I have learned method development, how to read and understand research articles, some image analysis techniques including Image J, and material properties testing.
