I am a junior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, majoring in accounting with a collateral in finance. Ever since I was a kid, I always had a passion for numbers and examining data, which ultimately led me to pursue accounting and finance. Competitiveness, analytical thinking, and effective communication have always been my pillars of strength and success whether academically or professionally. Growing up, I always strived to outperform myself and others not only in the classroom, but on the field as well. This strength has allowed me to excel in coursework throughout school due to how I constantly want to better myself and give my best effort. Another strength of mine is being incredibly analytical which allows me to solve complex problems and identify patterns through numbers and data. Furthermore, my strength in communication has led me to believe that it is key to being successful in any endeavor. In school, I always loved getting the opportunity to work on group projects. The ability to connect with others on a deeper level has been helpful in fostering collaboration and delivering positive team-based results. Looking forward, my goal is to secure a finance or accounting internship after my Junior year that allows me to further gain real world experience and hone my skills in a professional environment. After my graduation in the spring of 2026, I aspire to land a job at a finance institution or accounting firm that specializes in auditing, mainly dealing with financial statements. This aspiration stems from my interest in numbers and data, which aligns with my strength of being highly analytical as the ability to analyze complex financial information critically is a necessity. Additionally, in order to enhance my opportunities in the professional realm, I plan on pursuing the certification, Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
