I am a fourth-year Environmental Engineering CO-OP student at the University of Guelph committed to making a positive impact on the environment. During my time at the University of Guelph, my interest in the engineering profession has grown immensely. I have developed my skills in Civil3D, HEC-HMS, MATLAB, SolidWorks, AERMOD, ArcGIS Pro, EPANET, Python and Microsoft Office Suite. In my courses, I have worked with a variety of models across many different sectors of the engineering industry. Completed many different projects dealing with a variety of subject matter in topics such as remediation, water quality, hydrology, air quality, thermodynamics, soil mechanics, engineering design, watershed systems design, water treatment and GIS systems. My experiences at GSS Engineering Consultants Ltd. as a Senior CO-OP Student have provided me with skills in drafting and engineering design. I also have gained valuable field experience through construction inspection duties, administering site surveys, and assisting with contract administration. I helped to prepare reports and deliverables for clients working on a variety of projects. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant within the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph, I worked as a team member researching Cyanobacteria in Urban Lakes. I administered the water sampling program for the project, handled all data management related to the water sampling program, conducted literature reviews, and created a decision support system using Python were some of my roles during the term. Apart from my career and education, I am currently a volunteering member of Trout Unlimited Canada, acting as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Happy Trout Chapter. I have administered a Thermal Study of the Rocky Saugeen River and a study of the disappearing Green Drake Mayfly in the Rocky Saugeen River located in Southern Ontario. Additionally, I have helped to plan tree planting events and also work on bank stabilization projects.Some of my achievements include Deans List – Fall 21’, 22’ and Winter 21’, 22’, 23’, being the first recipient of the Walkerton Clean Water Legacy Award, 2022 Herbert J. Schneider Memorial Scholarship, The Charlie & Mildred Martin Memorial Bursary/Scholarship, Honor Sheild Award, and 4x Finalist/2x Medalist at the Canada-Wide Science Fair for my projects in the environment. I have skills in problem-solving, communication, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking and am extremely motivated. I am very excited to continue my education and build my career in the future!
