In this position I promoted all DME facilities as a premier sports venue. The venues included the Daytona Stadium, a 10,000-seat football/soccer facility; the Daytona Fieldhouse, a three-court basketball/volleyball facility; and the Daytona Ice Arena, a single ice rink public facility. I was responsible for booking, planning, and helping execute any third party events/rentals at the venues. I also led any new business dealings with the facilities.

My main mission for this position was to promote tourism and economic development through sports. More specifically I managed and organized all field sport events, including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, and football, while also assisting with any endurance sport. In this position I supervised and provided oversight for the preparation and execution of reports including financials and contracts. This included managing relationships and deliverables from contractors with the Grant Program and other vendors. I also assisted in overseeing the Sport Department’s seasonal intern, assisting me with event planning.

During my time here, I helped plan and execute three different cross country events, with the largest one having an estimated 9,000 athletes and spectators from across the country. That event not only included setting up and planning the course, but also planning an opening ceremony at the Donald L Tucker Civic Center with an attendance of around 6,000 people. Aside from the events, I also took charge of organizing the Tallahassee Sport Council’s Grant Program. I directed the distribution of the contracts for the grant program to be signed by numerous different parties, and returned to the right person.
