As a designer, my responsibility is to challenge the status quo and to push the boundaries of what is thought possible, bringing improved experiences and quality of living to people of all walks of life. A future is coming where everything is even more connected, digital tech and AR interfaces seamlessly integrating with physical products. From the items we physically or digitally wear, to objects we use or the architectural structures we move about in, these things all have a purpose. Digital tools, built on the foundation of AR/VR and web3 technology, will enable us all to connect more meaningfully with people in places we might not normally interact with, which will only broaden our knowledge and perspective as a human collective. This shift into a more immersive digital future, into the metaverse, powered by web3, will bring us into a phygital future, where the distinction between digital and physical products becomes blurred, as they are each momentary instantiations of an idea at a point in time and space. Via NFTs and blockchain, these artifacts of the future will transcend time and space. I am here to help shape this phygital future through design. Focusing on the needs of the user, whether they be physical or digital, functional or emotional, the design research methodology for human centered design still applies. Let’s create a better, more sustainable future for all together. The impossible is possible.
