The culture of beer and wine have been instrumental in the development of society; representing the people, environments, and the conditions of their history. Through advances in technology and education, we have been able to push creativity & passion to the forefront of production. Over the last five years of work within the Georgia Beer Community, I have seen the beginnings of many new ideas and approaches learning to thrive through struggle- inspiring me to grow through the challenges of the current world.I have been involved in all three tiers of the beer industry. Working from retail stocking positions into management & more educational roles has provided an incredible insight into the community. My goals were focused on developing an appreciation for how every beer with the right context can be a perfect experience. This attention to the experience and customers lead me to my work within the distribution side of the industry. Through this I worked to help my team better convey to the community the importance of the attention to detail that curating an environment to foster and support your passions will provide. Another chapter which culminated in helping to open a brewery as an assistant brewer & cellarman, and to redeveloping how one of our best breweries approached customer education and engagement.Through beer & wine, I have been able to explore all of my interests and understand my passions. Finding that my dreams of being an archeologist, an architect, or a game designer weren’t just phases. Each goal built upon the last, understanding my passion for sharing and developing alongside my community. Sharing the history and the process with others. Designing and creating alongside a team that reflects our interests and the climate of our surroundings. Navigating the narrative and presenting an experience that the individual can share and enjoy however they want, that is as much for them as it was for the people who brought it together.Beer & wine are more than luxuries, they are an extension of our identity- the common threads that tie our communities. We are living in a time where the producers have a freedom to express their passions. For us, as consumers and the community, more variety and opportunities than ever before to enjoy something that we truly want. For five years, I have worked to be apart of this experience- doing everything I can for what I love. A love that started as a dream to explore the unknown mysteries of the world, has matured into a passion to explore the capabilities of what we can create through fermentation.
