WFBI, is an Irish subsidiary of Wells Fargo, a global financial institution. My primary focus is to manage the daily balance sheet activities. Therefore,1) Producing, analysing and reporting Treasury’s opinion to the various Governance Forums in WFBI, mainly the ALCO.2) Monitoring, verifying Treasury expectations and running scenario analysis on the Regulatory Reporting Teams returns; specifying LCR, NSFR, ALMM, CBI Funding Return and CBI Liquidity Mismatch return. 3) Producing liquidity aspects of the ILAAP – weekly stress testing, deposit ratios and ad hoc reporting.4) Coordinating Treasury inputs into CFP and Recovery simulations and live scenarios. Acting as the Treasury Delegate in the absence of the WFBI Treasurer to these forums.5) Manage the day-to-day cash management activities of WFBI. Specifically, cash positioning/pooling, intercompany lending, foreign exchange transactions, recommend hedging strategies, short term investing of excess cash, oversight of legacy Investment Portfolio etc.:i) In order to obtain cost effective wholesale funding for WFBI; ii) Remain compliant with all Regulatory and Internal Liquidity / Capital ratios. iii) Partner with Finance and Risk in their roles with stress testing and other analyses of the WFBI exposures.6) Treasury representative for major technology changes, ie. Flexcube / Loan IQ conversion.7) Recommend treasury solutions to Line of Business issues; involving collaborating internally with Treasury, Tax, Finance and other departments.

With WFBI, a start up company in Ireland my role was varied depending on the turbulent nature of any new company. However, my primary responsibility is in managing a large investment portfolio, performing analysis of potential investment products and funding opportunities, developing interest rate and currency risks in the balance sheet management, and ensuring that all portfolio data is reflected properly in the respective position, risk and financial reports.

As a leading member of AIB’s Euro Currency Team my core responsibilities include:(i) I was responsible for achieving the short term Euro proprietary trading budget. I achieved this mainly with proprietary trading in Eonia IRS, vanilla IRS, futures and swap options, and various combinations many financial instruments.(ii) I was responsible for new product development. I successfully implemented the Eonia Swap Portfolio in AIB and I continued to pioneer new products, for example Forward Eonias, FRA styled Eonias.
