I joined the National Library of Australia as Director of Philanthropy in 2019 to work with supporters and colleagues to build philanthropic support for one of Australia's leading cultural institutions. Generous philanthropic support helps us to share collections online, supports our fellowships and scholarships program, and funds our flagship lectures, with over $10m raised in recent years to support these programs.Prior to the Library, I held roles with a fundraising consultancy (FR&C) and in higher education fundraising (at UTS and the University of Sydney). At UTS, I was part of the team that secured a $25 million gift in support of the University's Frank Gehry-designed Business School and a related scholarship program, both announced in 2010. Before working in fundraising in Australia, I taught English literature at universities in Ireland and the UK.My research publications in the humanities include four books: most recently a second edition of Love, Sex and Marriage in the Middle Ages (Routledge, 2022). I hold a PhD in English literature from Trinity College, Dublin.
