I am the founder trustee of SWIM Cambodia, a drowning prevention charity I founded in 2015. I am also the Therapeutic Services Manager for the Children & Young People's Wellbeing Service in Brighton & Hove.I have a background in International Public Health and international development. I am passionate about project development, drowning prevention, children and young people's mental health, tackling inequality and mobilisation of teams and operations. I have developed educational and training resources graphic design and illustration skills. I am experienced at train-the-trainer delivery for subjects including Drowning Prevention, Water Safety, Reach Rescue, First Aid, Overdose/Naloxone and Substance Misuse awareness.I also have experience of incident and safeguarding management, qualitative research, and leading co-production. I enjoy problem-solving and inspiring others with creative and innovative solutions.I founded the charity SWIM Cambodia, which aims to prevent child drowning. I worked with a team of local advisors to develop a drowning prevention and first aid teaching package. I am used to using coproduction skills in the design of a water safety education manual and trained and mobilised several teams in the delivery of water safety awareness and rescue and resuscitation skills. This work tackled cultural barriers and introduced communities to Water Safety awareness and CPR skills for the first time. 5000 children and adults in Cambodia are now safer from drowning injury through my work with volunteers and partnerships. I raised £60K to begin the charity and made a video nominated for a charity film award.I am skilled in graphic design and basic filmmaking to assist with project evaluation, logo design, branding, and social media. I have led co-production filmmaking and music projects with young people and adults. I have designed illustrations for training manuals for drowning prevention, water safety, lifeguard and substance misuse services.Partnership development has been crucial to my work in Cambodia and the UK with my work at YMCA DownsLink Group, Addaction/We Are With You and SWIM Cambodia. Parnership working has included RNLI, RLSS, Youth Star, iCAN, Helpcode, Speedo International, Care International, Tearfund, Amy Winehouse Foundation, St. Johns Ambulance, Liverpool City Council, Schools, Youth Clubs and Alder Hey Hospital.As an experienced leader, I focus on team cohesion and enjoy the challenge of improving productivity, and outcome monitoring to evidence success.
