 Systems engineer involved with the analysis of 3G prototype C4I radio systems that use adaptive and self organizing protocols for the Satellite and Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD) of CECOM in Fort Monmouth New Jersey. This was a DARPA program called the Global Mobile Information Systems that culminated with a large demonstration for military and commercial invites. Participants included ITT, MIT, Mitre, Rockwell, Nokia, Raytheon, SIAC, Virginia Tech, C4I, NRL, UCLA etc. The primary radio systems evaluated were the Soldier Phone, RAVEN, DAWN, SPARROW and ASPEN. The radios are attached to terminals running Linux or Win NT and are networked together via the wireless standard (802.11) and analyzed in a test-bed lab environment. Responsible for evaluating the network protocols and system performance of the radios using load analysis and protocol test tools. Test tools and equipment included Net-view, Net-X-ray, protocol and spectrum analyzers, traffic generators and simulators, sniffers, cable testers and oscilloscopes. At the users’ level, I work at integrating and testing software applications such as IVOX, Mapboard, Vic, Rumor, Coda and the UMTG.
