Participants included ITT, MIT, Mitre, Rockwell, Nokia, Raytheon, SIAC, Virginia Tech, C4I, NRL, UCLA etc. The primary radio systems evaluated were the Soldier Phone, RAVEN, DAWN, SPARROW and ASPEN. The radios are attached to terminals running Linux or Win NT and are networked together via the wireless standard (802.11) and analyzed in a test-bed lab environment. Responsible for evaluating the network protocols and system performance of the radios using load analysis and protocol test tools. Test tools and equipment included Net-view, Net-X-ray, protocol and spectrum analyzers, traffic generators and simulators, sniffers, cable testers and oscilloscopes.
