Project: Study of the granulometry of raw materials ground in pig farms FAFeurs (Fabricants d'Aliments à la Ferme), the aim of which is to set up a tool to control the size of ground particles in order to optimise feed absorption by pigs. Understanding the environment. - Design and transmission of questionnaires to suppliers of shredders and to pig farmers who use these machines. - Exploitation of results (construction of a database; analysis and presentation of results (internal and external)). Material control. - Sampling of raw materials and finished feeds specific to a physiological stage. - Laboratory analysis: 1) Measurement of the density of each sample; 2) Measurement of the granulometry in order to quantify the refusal or sifting of a product according to the diameters of the 7 sieves chosen (2,000, 1,250, 800, 500, 315, 200, and 125 µm); 3) NIR measurement using infrared rays to determine the characteristics of the raw material (moisture, protein, cellulose, starch, ash and fat content); 4) Mycotoxin measurement to determine whether the raw material is edible.
