We followed a curriculum, but we also included information from various other authors. I had studied their private lending guidelines as well as almost completed my studies to obtain my NMLS originator's license, which they required all of their employees to obtain. I was responsible for clearing tier I and tier II conditions per the guidelines on up to ten files or more per day.I enjoyed my time at Parkside. I was on a path to becoming a government and conventional underwriter. I was sad that my career there had to be cut short, but my children needed me at home.

I was hired through a Temp Agency for this contracted position as an FHA/VA 1-4-unit mortgage lending processor. I took the position to earn a little extra income on the side for my family. I was asked to come back for a new contract, but I had a baby and needed to be at home. So, I did not renew my contract. I was an excellent processor and received recognition from my supervisors, as well as customers. I processed FHA/VA/Conventional mortgage loans full time for the duration of my contract.

I managed a branch of a mortgage company originating almost all of the new business for our branch by creating and maintaining relationships with real estate agents, builders and referrals from my existing client base. I handled the processing (sometimes outsourced due to volume), pre-underwriting, bookkeeping and training new employees. I created a streamlined, paperless process for our branch.

I learned to originate and process FHA, VA loans, which were vital products to have in San Antonio, TX. I learned to manage a branch and originate/process conventional, FHA, & VA loans. My volume was lower when I managed this branch than when I was with Allied. It was a stepping stone.
