Economic Recovery Corps Fellow
CurrentContessa M. Trujillo has been selected to serve as an inaugural Fellow for the International Economic Development Council’s (IEDC) Economic Recovery Corps (ERC) initiative beginning in February 2024. This $30 million dollar initiative is a cooperative agreement with the IEDC and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA). As shared on the IEDC webpage, “The Economic Recovery Corps (ERC) is a new, collaborative initiative designed to accelerate recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in distressed communities and regions throughout the U.S. by connecting organizations with the talent and capacity needed to advance new ways of doing economic development that promote economic resilience and transformative change.” (https://economicrecoverycorps.org) Contessa will be partnered with Taos County located in Taos, New Mexico to support a Cultural & Outdoor Asset Mapping Study for Equitable Development. With more than 1,400 applicants, Contessa and the 65 other selected Fellows will be in place in 44 states, 9 efforts in tribal communities, and U.S. territories for the next 30 months.
