I am currently employed by Multilateral Endowment Management Company ("MEMCO") as Associate Director of Operational Due Diligence. MEMCO is an investment management company that serves not-for-profit institutions. It currently manages approximately $2.5 billion in assets. As part of the operations team at MEMCO, I focus primarily on operational due diligence matters. In doing so, I employ a multi-stage process of gathering, reviewing and following up on operational and business processes of investment managers that have been identified by the investment team. I lead conference calls and on-site due diligence meetings with investment managers, CFOs, COOs, GCs, and COOs to assess each firm’s operational infrastructure, highlighting areas of weakness to manage MEMCO client’s investment risks. I also conduct a holistic legal review of each manager’s offering documents and develop side letters as necessary. In addition, I support MEMCO’s General Counsel on legal matters of the organization. Prior to my current position, I attended Oklahoma State University where I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and accounting and with highest honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where I was a Comfort Scholar, served as assistant articles editor of the Oklahoma Law Review, was named to the Order of the Coif, earned thirteen American Jurisprudence Awards for academic excellence, and was awarded the Nathan Scarritt Prize for the highest academic record in my graduating class. After graduating law school, I practiced corporate and tax law with McAfee & Taft A Professional Corporation in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where I represented individuals, nonprofit organizations, and public and private businesses of all sizes in a broad range of business matters, including entity formation and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, transaction financing, contract negotiations and drafting, and business and transaction taxation. I also advised tax-exempt organizations on legal and business matters specifically applicable to nonprofits, including organizational formation, tax compliance, board governance, and planned giving. A portion of my practice was devoted to the representation of high net worth individuals and families in a wide array of family wealth transfer, taxation and estate planning matters.
