A BUSU President shall act as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Brock UniversityStudents’ Union, Inc., these responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- To design a platform and run an election campaign - Won 61% of student votes in a 4 candidate race- To provide direction and leadership for the advancement of the Students' Union;- To have signing authority on all accounts in existence for the use ofBUSU; a $10 million not-for-profit organization;- To be intimately involved in the budgetary process, and help to manage a budget of $1.6 million (including HR costs, A Food Court, Bar, and various other services);- To help manage Full and Part Time Staff working at the Students' Union- To act as a liaison between BUSU and the Brock University Senate,Board of Trustees, Administration, and Faculty Association;- To act as one of two ex officio, voting, executive representativeson the BUSU Board of Directors- To be an ex-officio member of all standing and ad-hoc committees ofthe Brock University Students’ Administrative Council;- To work with the General Manager and Executive Team on all legal, financial and management related matters of the Corporation when necessary;- To communicate and network with other post-secondary institutions, Students' Unions, businesses and other external organizations in conjunction with the Vice President External Affairs;- To hold voting seats on the Brock University Student Administrative Council (BUSAC), BUSU Board of Directors, Brock University Sustainability Committee and the BUSAC Environmental Committee;- To liase with and help set the agenda for the BUSU Board of Directors meetings- To plan for the future of BUSU in terms of student services, capital projects and legislative changes;- To lobby provincially and federally on behalf of Brock University students, and students in member organizations within the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance and the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations

The responsibilities of the BUSU Vice President of Student Services include, but are not limited to:- To design a platform and run an election campaign - Won 47% of student votes in a 5 candidate race;- To administer and supervise BUSU services and programmingincluding but not limited to, Orientation Week, Frost Week, day-today programming, formals, concerts, student leadership opportunities and volunteer/ charity initiatives;- To manage and design an Orientation Week budget;- To organize, coordinate, and generally manage public relations for all the social, recreational, artistic, literary and educational activities of BUSU;- To organize and coordinate Staff and Volunteer Appreciation events;- To identify and manage sponsorship, community and on-campus partnerships and other forms of fundraising for BUSU and charity events- To oversee various community building and philanthropic campaigns such as: Shinerama, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Movember, World University Student Canada, etc.;- To be an active student-Executive in community, philanthropic and student-led initiatives in the Brock University and greater Niagara Community;- To assist, consult and facilitate student groups in event planning, event management and various on-campus initiatives;- To liase with on and off-campus student organizations sharing best practice models, service support and event consultation;- To supervise BUSU Clubs, their conduct and be the liaison between BUSU and these clubs;- To advise and consult with BUSU Clubs on event planning, risk management and fundraising;- To hire and manage 7 student staff - To oversee services such as: Foot Patrol, First Aid, Brock Off-Campus, Isaac's Army, etc.- To collaborate with campus partners to enhance the Brock University student experience and student life and Brock University

Smart Start is a full-year Orientation Program that seeks to facilitate the transition between high-school and post-secondary education at Brock University. The responsibilities of a Smart Start Team Leader include, but are not limited to:- To help design and plan a program that aids the difficult transition into post-secondary education for students and their families;- To organize Faculty, Staff and community partners in order to organize meaningful presentations that serve to enhance the Orientation program effectiveness;- To interview, hire and manage 22 full and part time student staff;- To organize and administer academic advising lessons, campus tours, IT support and various other information/ training sessions preparing student staff for potential challenges that students and their guests may have;- To support student staff in the facilitation of each and every Smart Start program day, running from June 23-August 13;- To engage, educate, problem solve and support incoming students and their guests in order to answer any questions they may have, and eliminate any potential feelings of anxiety before arriving at Brock University;- To speak on behalf of Brock University and the Smart Start Team at the beginning and end of each program day, and provide any and all follow up information that students and guests may require- To manage the Stay Smart program that continues transitional support for first-year students throughout the academic term;- To report on student staff hours, campus initiatives and FAQ's throughout the Stay Smart Program;- To help organize star for Fall Preview Day for perspective students at Brock University, representing the University and answering questions that students and guests to Brock University may have- To help organize staff for Ontario University Fair in Toronto, representing Brock University and answering questions for perspective students and their guests
