Engineering Intern
CurrentDuring my internship within the Student Engineering Development Program, I gained valuable insights into the Utilities Sector through comprehensive learning sessions and industry-specific tours. I had the opportunity to work collaboratively with Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers in developing an innovative online training module, which was designed to familiarize Avista’s Customer Project Coordinators with the current electric construction standards. In partnership with a seasoned mentor, I contributed to strategizing and implementing solutions that aimed at the maintenance and improvement of aging infrastructure, thereby enhancing the safety of Cablemen working in these areas. Additionally, I learned to use IVMVP to evaluate energy efficiency projects, such as lighting, windows, motors, and pumps installed by industrial customers, to ascertain the overall energy savings achieved.
