● Recruit and convene working groups of diverse stakeholders to tackle complex public policy issues including electromagnetic spectrum allocation, cybersecurity, workforce challenges, and other national security issues, by gathering survey data and other market intelligence, developing expertise and negotiating consensus. This resulted in policy recommendations being communicated to and acted on by Members of Congress and executive branch officials in the DOD, OMB, GSA, DOE, and NASA.● Secure new partnerships with numerous domestic national security organizations and international groups aimed at furthering common goals, raising the profile of the organization, and recruiting additional members to the organization.● Created and managed multi-year organization-wide strategic plan of milestones and actions to guide and measure organizational activities by gathering input from executive team and key stakeholders. ● Oversaw the development and launch of the NDIA Business Institute, an auxiliary think-tank, and the Emerging Technology Institute, a business-resource for government contractors. Responsibilities included managing a team of outside consultants, working with the executive team to develop a budget for both verticals, and developing implementation plan and integrating with existing staff and lines of effort. ● Reconceptualized organization dynamics to enhance internal workflows, diversify revenue streams, and develop organization-wide strategic plan and milestones by leading a cross-functional organization team including marketing and communications, human resources, meetings and events, and finance.● Contributed to organization financial decisions to determine efficiencies and reduce costs by working with the SVP to balance the approximately $1 million/year Strategy & Policy Department budget.● Empower a team of three direct reports and four fellows to achieve organizational and departmental goals.

● Coordinated and executed regulatory affairs to impact change on behalf of the defense industrial base through the submission of dozens of official technical regulatory comments, in-person engagements with executive agency agents, and representation of our members in regulatory proceedings.● Managed judicial advocacy effort to ensure representation of NDIA members in court proceedings by tracking relevant legal actions and arranging amicus briefs to be submitted to Circuit Courts and the Supreme Court of the United States.● Executed proactive communication and advocacy strategies to highlight organizational policy positions and raised the visibility of the organization through policy issue papers, survey research and analyses, bill summaries, testimony, talking points, and presentations on relevant issue areas.

● Audited 200+ complex public comments to ascertain themes and provide policy recommendations for revisions to the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program by devising a system of data processing, categorization, and summarization.● Authored and contributed to procedural position papers, reports, recommendations, briefings, and statements for the record for the Infrastructure Security Compliance Division, impacting final policy decisions and regulatory changes.● Increased compliance and understanding of the CFATS by liaising with external and intergovernmental actors, including Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations.

● Directed fundraising efforts, including soliciting grant awards and major gifts to raise more than $500k annually by organizing donor campaigns, events, and targeted outreach to fortune 500 CEOs.● Pursued organization policy goals to achieve change related to federal fiscal policy by activating 250,000+ grassroots coalition members, grass tops affiliates, business executives and governmental relations professionals. ● Created thought leadership tools to bolster external engagement through the development and dissemination of white papers, research products, media interviews, and capitol hill testimony.
