My responsibilities for SharkNinja included product testing and improvement. I was in charge of drafting and building test fixtures to fit specific needs for the coffee makers. Some were designed to be implemented on the manufacturing line, others not. I also was involved in the beginning research and development of espresso and tea brewer concepts. Through this co-op, I gained valuable experience in soldering, test fixture prototyping, and electro-mechanical testing devices. I was able to solder my own PCBs for black box testing as well as run some of the iterations myself. I also was able to learn some of the simple Arduino code, with help from my mentor, to automatically run and monitor the unit's boiler during testing.

I worked in the mechanical engineering department assisting in a variety of investigatory projects. I mostly worked with the pumping systems within the automated chromatography units. I gained experience in assembly, disassembly, designing test fixtures, running laboratory reliability tests, and failure analysis. I also performed some Weibull data analysis techniques in order to gain information about component life cycle. This allowed us to make educated decisions for the nest steps in the design process, thus improving the performance of the Chromatography pumps.
