About Corey Eichner, Lp.D
For over 20 years, I have committed my career as a leader and educator in our public schools. I have had the privilege of serving diverse students across rural, urban, and suburban communities. My formal training includes a Doctorate in Law and Policy, a Master's in Educational Administration, and a BA in Political Science and Social Studies with a minor in Communication.I am a results-driven leader who collaborates with all stakeholders, often with divergent views, to advance reform that ensures all students, specifically those furthest from educational justice, have the access and opportunities they need to succeed. I have trained and led an instructional staff of 50-120, reformed educational systems and programming, and coordinated community and family support for the benefit of our students. These efforts have helped increase on-time graduation rates for students who have traditionally been disenfranchised from the system and awarded increased opportunities for post-secondary success. In addition to my career in public education, I have extensive experience in policy and advocacy. My doctorate from Northeastern University provided application-based advanced coursework in legal reasoning, policy analysis, and research. My program allowed me to concentrate my own skill development centered on federal and state educational policy and collaborate with my cohort on critical social issues such as public health, higher education, criminal justice, and alternative energy resources. My program culminated with my own primary research, a qualitative study on local equitable funding reform in the K-12 education system. My work in advocacy began when I worked as a student leader and activist, lobbying the state legislature for tuition control to promote equitable access to college. This also included lobbying at the federal level to increase Pell grant funding to students. I became more active in state and local politics by serving as a campaign manager for a State Senate race and volunteering with local political organizations supporting fundraising, canvassing, and phone banking. As a teacher, I served on the state board for the Council of Social and as an executive board member of our local bargaining unit as the Legislative Director. I’ve worked in various roles, including running for Seattle City Council in 2021, coordinating get-out-the-vote campaigns, fundraising, serving as an event coordinator and volunteer, canvassing and phone banking, and serving as an alternative delegate to a national convention in 2004.
Listed skills include Teaching, Secondary Education, Curriculum Design, K 12, and 11 others.
