My position as Director of Grounds encompases all facets of the buisness. From member relations to the preparation of the golf course for play and the aethetics of the grounds surrounding the property. This includes the daily management of a dedicated team to complete all the operational tasks, to supervising the long term capital needs and yearly budgets to ensure a healthy country club.

I was the superintendent on site from ground breaking through opening operations. I acted as the owners agent during construction managing all onsite decisons and coordination with the architecht and developer. Prepared the course for opening by devloping staff, aquiring equipment assests, preparing budgets and working with Marriott professional staff. Continued operations post opening and was awarded Marriotts Superintendent of the year as well a part of the team to achieve several Marriott Golf Club of the year awards.

Performed the duties of golf course superintendent during the construction, grow in and opening operations. Bristow was the first new golf course in the area in 15 years and presented the challenge of providing conditions and services to a new clientle. It was the first public course in Virigina to use Zoysia grass. Challenges as the new area course required us to build a strong team of staff to ensure the experience was worthy of repeat business.

Was involved in the rennovation and opening of the Blue Course under the architecht Rees Jones. Performed duties from typical mowing and dailty setup to working and learning all facets of the business.
