My favorite part of any day is connecting with other humans. I love building teams, helping people realize their full potential, and designing projects from scratch. I am the colleague at work that everyone wants to get advice from and am sought out due to my tenure and passion for my role. My time at Starbucks started as a part-time job while I went to college. Realizing that copy-editing and proofreading wasn’t going to pay the bills, I decided to stick to a job with amazing benefits and career growth. While the job has taught me about KPIs, business analysis, interviewing skills, and P&L review, what really surprised me is how much it made me a better person. How to create a human connection. How to bring out the leadership skills within people they didn’t know they had. How to give people confidence, courage, and commitment to both themselves and their career. I have promoted numerous people to where they want to be by making them believe it within themselves.It has also sparked my growth in other fields, specifically human resources, recruiting, and project management. Opening two stores – and building two brand-new teams – from scratch has been the most rewarding experience. And, believe it or not, I have a passion for labor law compliance (nerd alert). Overcoming challenges is my strong suit, and I would love the opportunity for a new role where these skills are transferable.My second favorite part of any day is quiet time for myself. I love to work out, crochet, and binge reality television – especially the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
