Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative Ii
The aim of the conducted research was to develop and simulate model-based algorithms to demonstrate depth, directional, and speed control of an underwater submersible. With future objectives in mind, model-based algorithms for spacing control of multiple underwater vehicles were created as well. Additionally, to build off FURI 1, enhancements were sought to refine image processing techniques with rapid algorithms through utilization of Kalman filtering. With these developments, the work serves as a critical step in the overarching goal; to design and build a fleet of low-cost, research grade, autonomous underwater vehicles.
Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative I
The aim of the conducted research was to examine and overcome the obstacles involved in developing a low-cost underwater image processing device to be utilized in non-ideal environments. The contraption would detect an object or lifeforms of note, align positional axes, initiate a continuous image feed from a modular camera, apply optimal digital signal modifications, interpret triggering event importance, and finally, implement algorithmic tracking-logic or return to the initial axes. The materialization of such a device would serve as a potential path to significant scientific discoveries, and will also allot newfound opportunity to youth and adults alike in oceanographical education.
Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (Circuits Ii)
-Assisted students in understanding course materials and provided worked out solutions for assignments and exams.-Clarification on any and all assignments - rewrote instructions where needed.-Worked with the students in groups online or one on one sessions to ensure a firm understanding of the correct approach and why to use it.
