Amparafaravola, Madagascar

Advised a cooperative of rural farmers on production and export of the first-ever shipment of organic rice from Madagascar. Developed system for monitoring and documenting organic production to ensure compliance with USDA NOP and EC regulations. Embedded within cooperative management team to build capacity in budgeting, planning, organizational management, partnership development and operations. Advised on business strategy for several additional small agribusiness enterprises.

Madagascar (Analanjirofo Region)

Partnered with local and international non-governmental organizations in leading participatory planning sessions and project design for various community-based income generation projects in agriculture, fisheries, and handicrafts. Drafted proposals for funding from international development finance institutions, in partnership with local entities. Work conducted in Malagasy language.
