Starting in the summer of 2024, during my break from school, I decided it was a perfect opportunity for me to help out my community. Standardized testing is stressful and I wanted to change that for the kids I worked with. I worked with four different kids from different backgrounds this summer and really got to know them well. Not only was improving their scores important to me, but the connections I made with them were equally as important. I intend to continue this job in the future when I am back at home.

I gained extensive hands-on laboratory experience, primarily working with mice and conducting a range of experiments including DEXA, micro-CT, and IVIS scanning. Throughout these procedures, I developed strong analytical skills in interpreting experimental data. In addition to animal work, I worked extensively with 5TGM1 cells, performing various assays such as cell proliferation, MTT assays, and RNA extractions. I also refined my technical skills in critical lab techniques, including precise pipetting and other methods to ensure optimal cell health.

My parents own and operate multiple restaurants in the Little Rock area, and I am responsible for overseeing critical operational details to ensure smooth running. Due to their limited English proficiency, I assist them with language-related challenges and serve as a liaison for business communication. While currently pursuing my university studies, I remain actively involved in the family business whenever I am home.
