Will be responsible for shift production goals in addition to safety, quality, and environmental within the Pulp Mill and Woodyard areas during swing shift. Will be working with up to 30 crew members to obtain daily shift goals.

For the first year of employment, I was assigned to the Paper Machines as a Process Engineer. In this area we discovered an opportunity to synchronize oscillating needle showers to average machine speed to establish uniform cleaning of press section felts. With my background from GL&V we were able to close the mill white water system, reducing fresh water intake. This year, while assigned to the Pulp Mill our team has been actively pursuing OCC pulp quality improvements by reducing reject stream recirculation (process optimization). My job involves working with contractors, multiple departments, and a union workforce. I view this work experience as making a positive impact to process operations through quality and cost savings improvements.

GL&V is a Canadian company that sells pulp and paper making equipment throughout the world. Some of my responsibilities are to assist in equipment start ups, such as a IMPCO Twin Roll Press line in Shantou, China. Recently supervised four millwrights in the installation of a slide bearing for a CDI at Niagara Falls.Auditing customers equipment and process approach of CDI discfilters and Polydics filters are another job responsibility. This requires domestic and international travel.Helping out millwrights and the customers Engineering Department during shutdowns is another job function.
