Profile bio

About Corey Smith

As I entered Drexel University in the Fall of 2005, an institution I chose to attend mainly for the five year co-op program, one of my goals was to experience an internship with NFL Films. I had no idea what responsibilities I wanted as an intern there, but I decided my passion for sports and ability to work hard would be a good match. I spent the first summer co-op interning at Sports Radio 610 WIP, which opened my eyes to the world of sports media. I learned so much, both technically in the radio world and personally, about myself and what I really wanted to do.In 2008, I would experience the sports industry from the other side, working for in the Philadelphia Eagles Ticket Office, molding my Microsoft Office skill and customer service ability by interacting with countless fans through the season. Finally in the spring of 2009, I was offered an internship with NFL Films, working in the producers department doing a variety of things. I was able to attend the 2009 NFL Draft in New York City as a Production Assistant, was asked to keep the NFL Network ticker up to date from time to time, and even became the go to intern for the mini series "Full Color Football: A History of the American Football League." Once my internship ended, I was offered a position in the Video Tape Library seasonally, along with a gig on Sundays working as a Video On Demand Producer. I did these for both the 2009 and 2010 season. My Drexel career ended in June of 2010, and it was even more than I wanted it to be. Along with these three internships, I experienced work as a zamboni driver at a local rink, security guard at many Eagles games and volunteered as an usher at the Penn Relays. All of these opportunities have, in some way, helped shape my goals and decide where in the sporting industry I want to end up.
