Corey began his career teaching middle and high school science in 2004. As a Florida science teacher, Corey received various accolades including Hillsborough County Public School’s Science Teacher of the Year, PRISM Award of Excellence in Science Teaching, and was nominated for the United States Presidential Award of Excellence in Science Teaching. In 2010, Corey became a new teacher mentor as part of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Empowering Effective Teachers (EET) grant. Through mentoring, coaching, customized embedded professional development, and formal observation/evaluation Corey supported 22 teachers new to the profession to accelerate their professional growth. Trained by Cambridge Education and The Danielson Group, Corey gained proficiency in the formal observation cycle and teacher evaluation protocols. Corey's extensive experience with school improvement, curriculum design, and intervention (RTI) have been invaluable to Title I school administrators.In 2011, Corey transitioned from K-12 public education to become an education technology Project Manager and Assistant Implementation Coordinator Manager for Explore Learning. From 2011 to 2015, Corey successfully implemented the use of Explore Learning Gizmo's into all middle and high school science curricula and classroom instruction for Hillsborough County Public Schools – the 7th largest school district in the nation. He also managed a team of Implementation Coordinators and supported $5M of annual renewal revenue. Corey joined Penda Learning in 2015 to serve as Chief Operations Officer.Corey holds a BS in marine biology from Eckerd College and a M.Ed. in Administration/Supervision Educational Leadership from National-Louis University.
