About Mindy Pearson

I am a passionate science education leader, curriculum and assessment developer, content and pedagogy coach, and professional development provider with a mission to improve the quality of classroom experiences for students and teachers everywhere. I presently serve as the Senior Director of Content and Learning at Penda Learning in the K-12 ed-tech space. Our team has written three-dimensional digital science content and assessments for the NGSS, Texas TEKS, and Florida SAS.I have also served as a classroom teacher, site-based leader, district level coach, and district level curriculum expert for Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa, Florida for over twenty years. I most recently worked in Academic Services at Hillsborough County Public Schools as a content specialist and am skilled in science content and pedagogy, mentoring, coaching, data-driven decision-making, and delivering customized professional development. My worked directly supported regional superintendents and other district staff, site-based administrators, teachers, and students. I have also worked in the ed-tech industry as a STEM Implementation Specialist for STEMscopes by Accelerate Learning to support content development, deliver professional development, and support account managers with sales. I have strong self-initiative, as well as an impeccable work ethic, organizational skills, and communication. I pride myself on developing and delivering quality products and building relationships with others.I began my career teaching middle school science in 1998. As a science teacher and coach, I have been honored as Teacher of the Year, Better Educated Students & Teachers Mentor, Research Experience for Teachers (RET) Fellow, and Robert Noyce Master Teacher Fellow. I am a member of the National Science Teachers Association, National Science Education Leaders Association, the National Association of Biology Teachers, Florida Association of Science Supervisors, and the Florida Association of Science Teachers where I share my experiences at state and national conferences.
