I am passionate about the arts, celebrating cultures, environmental protection and community building. My goal is to connect people, create opportunities and identify resources to empower and amplify voices of culturally, economically and socially diverse groups. Asset based creative community engagement, supporting and participating in the arts and connecting people across communities and sectors are my approaches to achieving these goals. I believe collaborative arts and cultural programming bridges gaps between people as difficult questions are asked, new information is learned, different perspectives are heard and self-reflection occurs. Ultimately this process can help us to understand each other better and fear each other less. Social and environmental justice themes are important components of my work.My recent work experience includes consulting and recruiting at Lindauer Global, community engaged learning in higher ed, curating the Cultural Events Series at UNC Asheville for higher ed and community audiences, connecting community and campus partners, grant writing and management, artist contracting, chairing and engaging in community and arts committees and boards of directors, managing marketing and communications for performing arts series, cultivating and managing sponsorships, developing masterclasses with faculty, artists and community members, scheduling and coordinating technical theatre staff and consulting on curricular connections. I have experience working with a wide variety of clientele, including: grassroots level nonprofits, large nonprofit organizations domestically and internationally based, corporate partners, international artists, arts festivals, faculty, staff and students in k-12 and higher education institutions.
