I am a Principal Associate at Community Science and Lead of the Equitable Community Development Practice Area. With almost 25 years of experience in the field, I manage and mentor diverse and talented teams working on a range of topics related to affordable housing and community thriving, from big cities to small towns. My goal is to advance racial, economic, health, and geographic equity through evidence-based strategies and solutions that address not only incremental changes, but also structural inequities. My work involves designing, implementing, and overseeing original research using mixed methods and collaborative approaches, and providing thought leadership and evidence to inform client decision-making. I translate findings to inspire action and change among policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders.Prior to joining Community Science, I was a Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute, a contractor in USDA's Rural Housing Service, a tenured Associate Professor of urban and regional planning, and an affordable housing and community development practitioner.
