YWCA Minneapolis has a 130+ year history of advocacy for women and children. Through equity-centered programs and advocacy focused on racial justice, early childhood education, youth and wellness, we create leaders, spark positive change, and improve the health of our community for all.In my role as strategic communications manager, I am responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communications plans to raise the visibility of YWCA Minneapolis’ mission and programs. I am responsible for planning editorial calendars and execution of mission-focused external and internal communications, including blog posts, e-newsletters, key print publications and digital/social media. I lead the marketing and communications review and approval process, assuring quality assurance and brand identity standards are met and manage corporate communications projects from development to implementation to support core PR and marketing initiatives.

Lifetrack is a 501(c)3 human services nonprofit that works to reduce disparities on the ground level by empowering those who experience the greatest barriers to success. In my role, I told the Lifetrack story and connected community members with the life-changing services that Lifetrack provides. As communications director, I was responsible for providing leadership and initiative in all areas of communications. I led the development of Lifetrack’s annual strategic communications plan in partnership with key leaders, and implemented strategies related to branding, marketing, donor communications, public relations and special events. I maintained the organization’s communications project calendar, including website management, print communications, appeal letters, social media campaigns, etc. I managed the Lifetrack brand and the organization’s external communications activities toward the goal of building visibility and awareness for Lifetrack and aiding fundraising activities.

As communications specialist, I managed and implemented Lifetrack's annual communications plan to increase awareness of our work. This included website management, implementing the social media plan, and producing promotional materials, such as newsletters, e-newsletters, client stories, project overviews, flyers, postcards, annual reports, videos and meeting presentations. I coordinated speakers and wrote speeches for annual fundraisers and community events. I supervised and coordinated communications interns.

Couleecap is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that combats poverty, promotes self-sufficiency, economic development, and social justice in the Coulee Region of Wisconsin.In my role as Housing Programs Assistant, I worked one on one with people experiencing poverty to help them repair their homes. I also worked with the Crawford County Housing Coalition to advocate for tenant and homeowner rights and developed a communications plan for a new affordable housing program.

As a freelance writer, I published articles and/or completed editing work with publications and online magazines such as The Feminist Wire, Edible Madison Magazine, Tinyhousetalk.com and Chickpea Magazine.

The Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that helps women and their families reach their healthiest potential, aiming to improve their overall quality of life through health education and outreach programs.In this role, I helped coordinate the launch of an interactive website, composed digital copy and utilized Wordpress CMS to build webpages. I created content for a new "SMS texting" health education program and managed the launch of a new Facebook community. I wrote press releases and articles for local magazines and newspapers on behalf of the organization and created print publications and newsletters. I also traveled statewide to train medical staff on program procedures, smoking cessation counseling techniques, and best practices, and helped plan events and presentations at regional meetings.
