Cooperative member of Golden-winged Warbler working group, a rapidly declining songbird nationwide. Responsibilities include surveys for GWWA presence, nest searching and monitoring, resighting and territory mapping color banded males, nestling banding and telemetry unit outfitting, radio tracking fledglings, in depth vegetation analysis and point count surveys of all songbirds including Golden-winged Warblers in timber harvests and wetland areas of DSF.

Member of crew headed by Scott Weidensaul conducting migration dynamics study of Northern Saw-whet Owls. Ran banding stations nightly from dusk till dawn for 6weeks during peak fall migration in two person teams. Followed mist netting, banding and data collection protocols and entered data. Oversaw intern and banding operation.

Part of a long-term monitoring project of the endangered Black-capped Vireo on army base of Fort Hood. Resighted color banded individuals. Target netted using mist nets and song/shrad playback tactics to capture and color band individuals. Monitored nesting activity including territory mapping, nest searching, nestling banding and fledgling survival within an assigned study site.
