The Alabama Numeracy Act is a comprehensive statewide plan to improve student outcomes in math and will include up to $110 million annually to provide math coaches in every elementary school in the state, as well as intensive support for struggling schools. This piece of legislation is the first of its kind in the nation and will provide a blueprint for other states. A+ was nominated for the PIE Network Game-changer of the Year Award for this legislative win.✓Appointed by Governor Kay Ivey to the Elementary Math Task Force, which will assist the ALSDE with the implementation of the Alabama Numeracy Act.✓Launched the A+ Policy Portal, with accessible information and policy briefs on thirteen evidence-based policies that will drive statewide improvements in student outcomes and expand access to high-quality schools.✓Launched the A+ COVID Spending Tracker, an easy-to-use online tool for stakeholders to see how every school district in Alabama is spending their share of the ESSER funds, and the A+ Advocate Toolkit, a resource that highlights effective strategies from across the country that will accelerate student learning.
