The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Netherlands Water Partnership have initiated the Young Expert Programme Water (YEP Water) and the Young Expert Programme Agrofood (YEP Agrofood) -in partnership with the Food & Business Knowledge Platform- with the objective of providing assurances for the continued availability of international professionalism and expertise in the water and agri & business sector. Both programmes are carried out in YEP Programmes (www.yepprogrammes.com). YEP Programmes offers Dutch young professionals an opportunity to acquire professional experience abroad and young local professionals an opportunity to take their first steps in an international work environment via Dutch organisations. In adopting this approach YEP Programmes makes a contribution to a dynamic international water and agri & business network and makes this network open to a new generation of young experts.

The participants of the NWP NGO Water Platform are committed to increase sustainable access to safe drinking water, sanitation, hygiene, water for economic development and 'wise use' of ecosystems in developing countries (WASH and IWRM). The NGO Platform represents the civil society organizations active in the water sector and facilitates the national and international dialogue on poverty reduction and water/sanitation. The platform promotes cooperation with the business community, governments, knowledge institutes and financial institutions.

The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) is a comprehensive network of Dutch companies, NGOs, governmental organisations and knowledge institutes that unites Dutch water expertise. It aims to generate market and development opportunities for the Dutch water sector abroad. It acts as a centre of information on water expertise, policy developments and market opportunities. I am working on (business) development in the water sector in the countries Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda in close cooperation with the Dutch embassies and the water sector parties.
