I help to facilitate the rescue and delivery (donation) of around 5,000 lbs of edible food surplus every week. Replate rescues high-quality, surplus food that would have otherwise been thrown out, and we donate it to local non-profit organizations. I'm responsible for overseeing the dispatch and efficiency of our daily routes, planning food recoveries from large-scale events, managing our communication lines (live chat [Intercom], phone, etc.), resolving live deliveries, coordinating with non-profit recipients, and other related tasks.I communicate directly with clients to manage their pickup schedules and administrative information, and to keep track of any ongoing service issues. Examples of food generators/clients include caterers, event spaces, office spaces, and airports; I.E ZeroCater, Aramark, San Francisco International Airport, and the Chase Center. Our operations encompass areas such as San Francisco, Greater Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Denver, and Silicon Valley.Additionally, I'm responsible for establishing and maintaining our relationships with non-profit recipients and food rescue partner organizations. Replate works nationally, so as a fully remote company, we manage our logistics using a mixture of internal tech products and 3rd party software.

Perform instantaneous and integrated surface monitoring, perimeter probe monitoring and operations and maintenance of landfill gas wells, flare stations and vapor extraction systems using filtration to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOC’s). Prepare and update site specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs)Coordinate with internal laboratories and divisions to provide remediation and sampling services to clients across Northern California. Conducted California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) compliance air monitoring (community, remediation, and fugitive dust) using NIOSH Methods 7402, 7300 and USEPA approved methods throughout the duration of the Woolsey-Hill Fire Debris Remove Project. Assisted, as a technician under a CSST/CAC, with screening-level, asbestos-containing material (ACM) inspections on chimney(s) and lots, and post-abatement ACM clearance lot inspections. Documented daily weather conditions, wind patterns, on-site and off-site observations of air monitor stations placed directly outside of the exclusion zone of the remedial work area.

Deployed to San Juan, Puerto Rico to support emergency management software training and client needs associated with the Buffalo Computer Graphics (BCG) DisasterLAN software for the FEMA STEP Program.Served as a Liaison between Buffalo Computer Graphics and various project management firms to ensure the software and hardware needs of the construction firms were being met. Conduct disaster education and preparedness activities, coordinate Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, recruit and manage disaster volunteers, and conduct disaster preparedness education. Conduct outreach activities to identify vulnerable populations, including low income residents, minority groups, the disabled, the elderly, and others, and find ways to meaningfully connect them with disaster preparedness information and activities. While working for the state of Arkansas, I enjoyed traveling throughout the state teaching the Arkansas Continuity of Operations Program software to local officials and school districts. I also helped develop and facilitate a Pandemic Flu Table Top Exercise, modified and adopted now by many agencies. I also performed as a resource for individuals who had problems with the software or information, and worked to troubleshoot issues. All requests were triaged, and then addressed.

Training and Exercise Specialist within the National Preparedness Division where I utilized the Training Information Access System (TIAS) and FEMA Employee Knowledge Center (FEKC) records to generate the following: Training Needs Assessments, Training Plans and Training Needs Matrices. Assisted in the generation for the initial FEMA Qualification System Implementation process.Other responsibilities included planning and participating in the National Level Exercise (NLE) of 2011 where the agency simulated a major earthquake along the New Madrid Fault line as well as the Mobile Education Team (MET) Seminar. Contributed ideas and input used in creating the After Action Report and Implementation Plan based on lessons learned from the earthquake exercise. The internship also provided an opportunity for me to create disaster Situation Reports and Spot Reports used in the Regional Response Coordination Center (RRCC).
