OPERATIONAL BUDGETING• Provide input to develop the operating budget for the Security• Collect, collaborate and communicate information related to projects including resolving problems, approving expenditures, handling complaints and providing technical expertise for the Security Department• Ensure Security Ambassadors make periodic tours throughout the DID inspecting buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured• Fulfill obligation to investigate and report any act of theft, destruction, abuse or negligence both internally and externally• Provide assistance to staff in managing potentially aggressive individuals and individuals impaired in their ability to care for themselves• Investigate disturbances and in the event of an emergency, maintain order and safety of personnel• Serve as point-of-contact with local authorities and stake holders on issues of concern• Develop and oversee long/short-range financial management, planning, systems and controls• Order materials and supplies; assist in monitoring and tracking expenditures• Invoice funding sources, including calculating completed units of service• Regularly meet with Executive Director concerning operational budgetingOPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS• Improve operational systems, processes and policies in support of mission• Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services through improvements to the Security Department as well as coordination and communication between departments• Develop, execute and report operational goals, milestones and measurables• Contribute to short/long-term organizational planning and strategyOPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP• Lead security staff by determining workloads and schedules; develop, interpret and implement policies and procedures; evaluate staff and make hiring and termination recommendations; ensure staff are trained in complex security activities and are following standard operating procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES• Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of Anchorage Downtown Partnership’s mission -- specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning. • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services through improvements to each department as well as coordination and communication between support and business departments. • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence. • Develop and oversee departmental overall financial management, planning, systems and controls. • Manage Anchorage Downtown Partnership’s budget in coordination with the Executive Director. • Invoice funding sources, including calculation of completed units of service. • Regular meetings with Executive Director around fiscal planning.
