Developed the product concept, marketing strategy, and business plan for this maker and seller of an innovative multivitamin breath mint. Raised the capital, developed and sourced the product and packaging, and developed marketing tools for selling. Recruited distributors in US and Japan. Developed financial reporting system, created financial reports and tax returns. In the process of closing the business and returning remaining investor capital due to poor market acceptance of product. As our business was focused on Japan, the earthquake and tsunami that struck within weeks of our launch proved to be an obstacle we were unable to overcome.

Founded this business that helps large employers reduce workplace injuries and return injured employees to work quickly and safely. Grew revenue from $0 to $7 million in three years. Raised $12 million in venture capital in two rounds. Developed marketing approach and tools that proved effective in capturing and retaining clients. Played leadership role in search, negotiation, due diligence, and closing on acquisition of three companies that became the core of our business. Created and presented financial reports to the board of directors.

Responsible for 25 facilities, 3,000+ employees. Member of the founding team of this operator of long-term care facilities. Increased revenues from $2 million to $110 million. Developed and implemented turnaround strategy for acquired facilities which turned company performance from a loss to $17 million in EBITDA. Assisted in raising $90 million private round of debt and equity. Assisted in acquisition of two facilities in Germany, giving the company a beach head in this important market that (although eventually spun off) has grown to about 58 facilities and the second largest operator of nursing homes in Germany today (under the Casa Reha brand that we created.)
