Starting as a Biology Major with the intent of going to medical school was my goal. As I grew, my goal to impact the health of our world changed for the better. As an attendee of Canisius College, I changed my major to English and kept my pre-med track. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely is necessary to guide common people into understanding how to talk about health and achievement regarding their part in it. I started to see the allopathic medical system as a disease-care system as pathology is what our western culture refers to when it comes to healing. What if we study the healthy human body and individual habits to achieve that status? My mindset shifted as I transferred to Buffalo State and started to delve into my English curriculum, Literary criticism and theory being my favorite (I'll take a philosophy class for fun). I started to think more in-depth and think of more ways where I could truly help people. Allopathy treats sickness, I wanted to inspire others to prevent disease through healthy habits and wellness. Fitness became a big part of my life as I advanced through college, however, my personality of being an overachiever caused me to push myself to the extreme. Then I found Yoga. Yoga has magnificently transformed my life and I can not live without it. I'm forever grateful for Cheryl Erbacher as she inspired me to become the Yoga instructor that I am today. Yoga has brought balance to my health, fitness, and mind to where lack there is noticeable in my personality. When I worked for ECMC, it was a job that I didn't care for, Yoga gave me a reset after that shift and to the week as it does to this day. I left ECMC during my Yoga Teacher Training and it allowed me to teach Yoga all over Buffalo while I pursue my Naturopathic medical career. In the meantime, I managed an up-and-coming restaurant called Manna Culinary Group @ Northland before covid. I gained valuable experience from that role and finished the classes needed to further my medical career during our time of collective reset. Being a Trauma-Informed RYT 200 and Children RYT 95 has enabled me to meet people where they are and have respect for everyone's journey. As I continue on this path I look to guide people to a life of happiness, commitment, ease, choice and determination to be what and whom they choose to be. May this be a small portion of my future endeavors and I look to cross paths beautifully with all who have taken the time to look into a piece of me.
