• Led a national, state, and local coalition of over 100 immigrant rights, labor, civil rights, faith-based, and community rights organizations to advance comprehensive immigration reform by seeking passage of the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005 (S.1033), passage of the “Chairman’s Mark” in the Senate Judiciary Committee, and final passage of S.2611 by a vote of 62-36• Coordinated legislative advocacy with over 80 field organizations in almost 40 states, including organizing town hall meetings, national weeks of action and web-based advocacy• Created and led an interfaith coalition (including Protestant, Catholic, conservative Evangelical, and Jewish groups) in legislative, media and grassroots strategies.
