James is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with 15 years post qualification experience, built across a range of industries in the areas of Procurement, Financial Control, Cost and Management Accounting, Corporate Finance, Fundraising, Funds and Securitisation, Project Management and Asset Management.Having trained in a practice in Galway he worked with Ernst & Young, Royal Bank of Canada and Ogier & LeMasurier in Jersey, Channel Islands before returning to Ireland in 2004. Since returning to Ireland he has worked in Corporate Finance with Russell Brennan Keane and as Financial Controller and Finance Director with a number of entities. He is currently engaged with the business consultancy firm TeamBDS as a Strategic Management and Finance Specialist.Career Milestones - Establishment and development of an in house Finance Department for an expanding international business with property, hospitality and investment interests (turnover circa €20m, with capital projects of up to €150m at any one time)- Fundraising, both in the traditional sense and also through the creation of a €20m Mezzanine Fund- Establishment and management of the financial reporting element of a suite of Funds that grew in value from $20m to $500m during tenure- Facilitating trade purchases and sales, including preparation of Information Memoranda, sourcing suitors, agreeing Heads of Terms, liaising with legals/tax and facilitating closing of various transactions
