    • Daily operations – Checking the server infrastructure for issues and logging / resolving the problems plus knowledge share with the team• Project work – currently undertaking 3 domain migrations into the once single domain. There are a number of issues that need to be rectified such as DNS / File shares / user migrations and mail migrations• SAN infrastructure deployment – recently had to undertake a priority NAS replacement program in the Solihull DC as their core infrastructure was deployed on QNAP NAS infrastructure which did not provide the required IOP’s and the infrastructure was running very poorly. I provided the business with three options / costs. So, once we had the budget in please, I went ahead and installed a Nimble HF20 SAN and migrated all of the core infrastructure services over with next to no downtime.• Implemented core infrastructure monitoring of disk / network / systems and services monitoring using Zabbix. Zabbix sends alerts when conditions vales are breached. I’ve also made sure that VMWare alerting is in place, as this was never setup correctly. Finally, I also setup Telegraf / InfluxDB and Grafana to be able to create a NOC view on service outages which also helps to confirm if there are additional infrastructure issues.• Documentation – I’ve helped to teach / train the team members in how to document everything to one location using OneNote which has been a blessing as most documentation was scattered all over the infrastructure file systems.• Training – I’ve spent a lot of available time in training / upskilling the team as I feel this really helps to make them stronger and they then feel more empowered to take on bigger challenges that they may not have had the chance to experience.• Leadership – At Primis I manage a team of four engineers with a number being based locally and a remote engineer. They report directly to me. I manage their workload / assign the tasks and keep general track of them.

With regard to the Co-located DC I would check the physical server racks about once to twice a month and attend regular meetings with the service provider.• Infrastructure issue resolving Key technical resource for the majority of the technical issues that are encountered within the infrastructure. I’m very often finding myself offering the resolution.• SolarWinds updates / upgrades and customisation work – I’ve been upgrading and bring up to date the SolarWinds monitoring solution as it was very much out of date and some irrelevant services had been monitored.• Infrastructure design Planning the design of the new services that need to be stood up for auditing the hardware / Software, sorting out the current backup situation as it’s a complete disaster. • Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 7.5 I had deployed and implemented a Citrix XenApp 7.5 farm including setting up the policy’s required for the 200 users.
