I am passionate about innovating, excelling and developing professional practice, while always seeking new opportunities to develop my own interpersonal, intellectual and leadership skills. I have worked in 2 large police forces across a range of policing disciplines including serious crime, operational critical incident management, neighbourhood policing and strategic implementation. I have also been on attachment to the National Crime Agency (NCA). I was the team leader of the first Child Sexual Exploitation Team within Manchester comprising police officers, social workers and outreach workers. This was a unique way to tackle this threat against vulnerable young people using prevention, intelligence gathering and enforcement as well as a holistic approach to victims. This approached resulted in the first conviction of a child sexual exploitation organised crime group within the UK, where I was the D/Senior Investigating Officer.I provide leadership for serious crime including homicide, rape and kidnap across the force as part of the Force Cadre and I am an accredited PIP3 (Major Crime) Senior Investigating Officer (SIO). I have demonstrated that I possess the qualities and skills to perform the role, to drive performance and to build partnerships. A large part of my work involves me researching, assessing, reviewing and disseminating information both verbally and in writing to get fulfil my task at a number of stakeholders, within and outside the police. I also believe in personal and CPD as I obtained a Masters Degree in Policing, Policy & Leadership with Merit from the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies (ICJS), University of Portsmouth. I earned this degree whilst working full time as an operational police officer. I believe the skills, qualities, training and creditability I have gained as a police officer and academic, are valuable, transferable skills.
