Peace served from January 25, 2006 to January 8, 2020 having been elected to seven terms and never having lost a primary or general election. Catalyst for four major capital enhancement projects to preserve and interpret the historic site. Manager of multi-million dollar asset portfolio and over six-figure operational budget. Steward of nearly 150 acres of historic view shed including the birthplace of Patrick Henry. More than doubled Annual Fund revenues by restructuring program to generate nearly triple the participating donors and larger average gifts. Raised over $1M for sustained preservation of the site, community outreach, collaborative partnerships, and educational programs through individual gifts, restricted private family foundation grants such as Parsons, Cabell, Windsor, Reynolds, Robbins, Roller-Bottimore, Gwathmey and Pauley trusts and foundations, general grants from the public and private sectors including consistent funding from several community banks, Dominion, and both Federal and Local governments. Introduced SOL-based lesson plans, fully integrated into area schools, private, public and home. Led Board through an initial strategic assessment and later a strategic planning process with the adoption of a comprehensive strategic plan in consultation with Bryan & Jordan Consulting. Established creative collaborative partnerships in multiple jurisdictions for the Road to Revolution State Heritage Trail. Initiated rebranding effort with new logo design, use of direct to consumer contacts including Facebook, Twitter and Constant Contact.
