About William Jones

I am an architect/senior developer with 30+ years of development experience on both Windows and *nix, 30+ years working with RDBMs and SQL, 25+ years working with Microsoft .Net development technologies and 25+ years working with open source applications and OS's. My more recent personal development efforts have been continuing my relationship with C/C++ focusing on scientific computing using CUDA and GPU processing architectures as well as completing online course work in Machine Learning and AI.Over the last three decades my career has included involvement in three start-up companies including running end-to-end IT operations as well as the responsibility of leading medium sized teams in the production of various software solutions. During my career I have performed duties ranging from development lead to network design to application evaluation and recommendation to IT strategist to sole designer and implementer of a variety of software. In between the work at start-up companies I have consulted with several firms implementing various software for the US Navy, the New York City Fire Department and several small to medium sized businesses. I have also had the opportunity to work within the mortgage and financial industry in various positions from administrator to analyst.I am an exceptional software engineer specializing in C++ with an emphasis on complex algorithms, data storage, communication protocols, simulation, mathematics and hardware interfaces. I have nearly 30 years of experience with C/C++ including work for the US NAVY, FDNY and LANL. During this time i have bee exposed to multiple problem domains including: scientific, military, government, finance and manufacturing. I have personal development experience with CUDA and GPU based computing. I have successfully develop cross platform applications running on ARM and NVIDIA SOC. I have a firm grounding in mathematics and physics with an emphasis on creating models and simulations. I have a thorough understanding of numeric methods, Monte Carlo, finite element analysis, discrete finite automata. I am intellectually curious and always looking for a challenge.
