My work with the Center for Health Literacy was specific to the Medicaid, Medicare, and D-SNP populations. I worked in project management and focused on community relations/engagement, formative and field research, business development, data analysis, and usability testing. Plain language , marketing , and branding were at the forefront of all messaging and content development, (notices, applications, marketing collateral, websites). I conducted, trainings (both internal and external), provided technical assistance, plan and executed successful social media engagement plans.During my tenure with MMS, I spearheaded research team coordination which led to the development and/or improvement of materials for the federal government, multiple state governments, and non-profit entities.

During my tenure at the Center for Health Literacy, I researched and tested with over 1,200 Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries-- including dual-eligible, in-person assisters, and physicians. Through extensive testing, I was able to expand the Center’s testing portfolio and increase the community-based organization partnerships by 50%. These are forts and more resulted in positioning the Center for Health Literacy and MAXIMUS as thought leaders in the field. In preparation for the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, I organized and executed large scale, multilingual field and user experience research projects for federal and state government agencies including but not limited to;-Colorado Health-Covered California-Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS)-Health and Human Services (HHS)-Massachusetts- MassHealth & MA Health Connector-Manatt Health Solutions-MAXOutreach-New York-Office of The National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC)-RTI International The data collected had a positive impact on the readability (lowering the reading level from 9th grade to 5th or 6th grade) and accessibility of materials designed to inform individuals affected by the changes in health reform. As project coordinator and manager, I worked with clients and stakeholders to align statewide health marketing and community outreach campaigns.
