I am a partner in the Financial Services team at the international law firm, Simmons & Simmons, based in London.I specialise in Derivatives, Trading and Investments, advising the world’s most sophisticated asset managers and asset owners on the terms of their investment arrangements in the public and OTC/private markets. Clients include major hedge funds, global and domestic asset managers, banks, private equity funds, sovereigns, major pension schemes, insurers, corporate treasury and family offices. The team works on the full range of trading agreements and across products, including prime brokerage, central clearing, equity derivatives (including index/strategy TRS), CDS and currency trades. I also advise a number of private equity funds and corporates on deal contingent FX hedging and currency overlay. My practice covers market infrastructure and trading regulation, including EMIR, SFTR, BMR, CSDR, as well as sectoral regulation under AIFMD, UCITS and MiFID. My experience includes advising on product distribution, segregated mandates (IMAs/TMAs), custody, prime and UCITS. I regularly advise clients on eligible assets for investment by UCITS.Passionate about legal innovation and change, I developed our "Netting + Collateral Reviewer" product and our regulatory tracking tool "Searchlight".Secondment experience: 6 months as derivatives counsel for one of the leading fund management groups in the UK.2-year part time secondment to one of the UK’s largest asset owners - developing their internal asset management capability across multiple products and insourcing execution functionality.
